Olga van Zon – Kolonova was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. She worked as a translator at the Ministry of Agriculture (Gosagroprom).
In 1980 she graduated from the “Maurice Thorez Pedagogical State institution of Foreign Languages” in Moscow. Olga worked as a translator and an interpreter at the Ministry of Agriculture (Gosagroprom) Moscow, Russia, for a number of years.
She has lived in the Netherlands since 1994, is married and has three children.
In 2008 she resumed her work as an interpreter, specialising in the area of botanical translations.
